First Day Hike 2025

The Friends of Clark Reservation will once again host a “First Day Hike” event on January 1, 2024 from 11 am to 2 pm.

NOTE: Due to larger turnouts in recent years, THE GUIDED HIKES WILL BE LIMITED TO 30 PEOPLE EACH (20 people for “Walking with Wildlife”.) All participants must sign up online BEFORE JANUARY 1 at https://www.friendsofclarkreservation.org/events-1 , and then check in at the large pavilion on the day of the hike.

There will be four guided hikes this year: an easier "walking hike" (about an hour) on mostly flat or slightly inclined ground; a “moderate” hike, with some challenging terrain included (1 - 1.5 hours); and a “challenging” hike (about 2 - 2.5 hours) over rugged terrain, steep hills, rocks, etc. Also offered will be a “Walking with Wildlife” hike of moderate difficulty; the hiker leader will point out various signs of wildlife along the way that…
