Recently, the FCR initiated a fund with the Central New York Community Foundation (Friends of Clark Reservation Endowment Fund). This fund was made possible by a generous donation from the family of Diane M. Wheelock, a founding member of our organization. Diane was the first director of the Clark Reservation Nature Center.
The Central New York Community Foundation is a public charity that invests and manages contributions from private donors so the funds will grow over time; then the Foundation distributes funding to local charities (and the FCR) to help them thrive. The FCR is hopeful that starting this fund will benefit not only the central New York community, but will also benefit the many users of Clark Reservation in the form of enhanced educational events, hikes, and Nature Center facilities.
